Knossos Hotel
We are a family run hotel in Kalamaki in southern Crete. Kalamaki is a small village that is located directly on a beautiful 8 km long sandy beach. With 15 brightly furnished double rooms, each with shower, WC and private balcony, the hotel Knossos has a manageable size and a unique atmosphere. For breakfast, the coffee or a refreshment in between and a cozy get-together on the evening include a spacious dining room with a large, well-stocked bar and a beautiful flowers and plants of grapes entwined terrace. This nightly meeting place is very popular with guests of the house. Thanks to its special flair, the Hotel Knossos has many regular customers.
Try also our delicate honey, made by ourselves. We have about 500 beehives around Kalamaki and we are producing a very good thyme honey with golden brown color and a thick liquid consistency.
Anyone who has been here knows both the advantages of the hotel and the advantages of small Kalamaki. Located in south central Crete, between the tourist resorts Matala and Agia Galini, from here you can explore the largest Greek island. And of course the long sandy beach with its cozy taverns provides anyone the right and a fabulous sunset! For those who love the extensive nightlife, the disco on the beach is open daily and the neighboring towns Matala and Agia Galini invite you with unlimited possibilities. The climatic conditions are ideal for a relaxing holiday from spring to late autumn. The climate is dry at about 300 sunny days of a year, the air is rich in iodine and salt. Kalamaki is close to Matala and Agia Galini. In this area there are outstanding archaeological sites and settlements such as Phaistos, Gortyn, Aghia Triada and Komo.
Our hotel is 150 meters from the beach and has 15 rooms with balcony. All rooms are equipped with Internet access, air conditioning, fridge and shower / WC. The rooms are heated in cold winter months (central heating). For Families with small children we provide at any time an extra bed.
